National Filmfare Awards
Honourable President Pranab Mukherjee conferred 64th National Film Fare Awards at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on 03-05-2017. Actors Sonam Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Atul, Kasbekar, Madhur Bhandarkar, Boman Irani along with many other popular celebrities attended the event.
Priyadarshan filmmaker, the Chairperson of the jury took stage to clarify on his decision of choosing the actors to honour. He said people may support or criticise the decisioon but every decision is subjective and people choose to support or criticise it.
Jury given importance to movies with social issues which shows our culture, beliefs are the major points while deciding the winners.
Akshay Kumar was honoured as the Best Actor for his performance in Rustom where controversy erupted after declaring Best Actor. He took the criticism sportingly and said that he and his family are very happy for the Best Actor award. Akshay Kumar attended the National Filmfare Awards event with his wife, author and actress Twinkle Khanna and his son Aarav.
Heroine Sonam Kapoor received a special mention for her performance in film Neerja, also attended the event with her family. Sonam Kapoor Father Anil Kapoor excited to see her daughter receiving the award and even he taken pics of her.
Atul Kasbekar Producer of Neerja received the Best Hindi Film Award, while Mohanlal got a special mention for his performance. Mohanlalal awarded for his performance in Pulimurugan, Janatha Garage, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, Ajay Devgan’s movie Shivaay awarded for Best Special Effects.
